This year, it wasn’t just Georgina and Alegría enjoying the ice. Isaac is old enough now to strap on the skates and because Tim wasn’t feeling 100% he was our official photographer!
There are penguin stabilisers that are fantastic for the children to hold onto and skate behind and the friendly staff are available to help out.
Children 5 and under are recommended to wear their own shoes with double blade clip-on skates, so make sure you take closed-toe shoes. The hire cost was included in the low entry price.
Craigieburn Central have organised a lot of family activities such as games on ice, tiny tots, learn to skate and storytime with Hume Library sessions, and on selected weekend evenings you skate under the stars and watch as the rink comes to life with an overlay of live music to delight young and old.

That looks like fun (says the man who cannot stand up on any kind of skate)! Do they make the penguin supports in an XXL size?

It was fun! You could pretend you are the Hunchback of Notre Dame and use the kiddie support, I’m sure no one would notice …
