Kidding Around Australia are looking for nature playgroup Team Leaders, Facilitators and Volunteers for THE BUSH BUS that have experience working with children and families.

ABOUT THE BUSH BUS

THE BUSH BUS is a mobile nature playgroup that welcomes everyone with children aged from 0 – 6 years old to play freely in a bush or park setting. Children will participate in activities such as nature inspired arts and crafts, water, mud and puddle play, sensory imaginative play and educational nature walks and talks to uncover the indigenous flora and fauna of their local area.

THE BUSH BUS playgroups are FREE and will be conducted in a relaxed and informal space where parents, carers, babies and children can come together in a friendly and inclusive environment.

TEAM LEADER POSITIONS

As the name suggests, our amazing team leaders will be responsible for each of THE BUSH BUS mobile playgroup sessions in Beveridge, Wallan, Kilmore, Broadford and Seymour.

You will have experience and/or qualifications with a minimum of 1 year experience working in; Early Childhood Education, Teaching, Outdoor Education, Environmental Science, Forest School, Bush Playgroup or Recreation.

You will have a passion for working with children, a love for the outdoors (with knowledge about sustainability, wildlife and conservation etc.), an excellent understanding of nature play, its benefits and ideas for nature play activities as well as a working knowledge of local flora and fauna.

You will have very good organisational and interpersonal skills, a can do attitude and be physically fit with the ability to pick up heavy objects and walk long distances.

You must have (or be willing to get) a driver’s licence, working with children check, police check, Level 2 First Aid certificate, food handler’s certificate and participate in any training we believe to be appropriate.

The successful applicants will be able to commit to this position for at least one year and are required to start training immediately and then start work in Term 1, 2019. Work hours are from 9.00-12.00 (depending on your location, there is some flexibility around these hours).

Availability to work during school holidays is preferred and we may have some Saturday work available.

Please also note that as this is a paid position, you are not able to bring your own children along when you work.

FACILITATOR POSITIONS

We are looking for passionate and energetic facilitators to assist with the running of THE BUSH BUS mobile playgroup sessions in Beveridge, Wallan, Kilmore, Broadford and Seymour.

We are looking for people that share our love of nature play and are committed to being part of a vibrant team that have some knowledge about the outdoors (plants, sustainability, wildlife etc.) and nature play. Full training will be provided.

You will have very good organisational and interpersonal skills, a can do attitude and be physically fit with the ability to pick up heavy objects and walk long distances.

Ideally, you will have a current Level 2 First Aid certificate; police check and working with children check however don’t let that stop you from applying if you don’t. If you are right for the job we can work that out!

We are looking for people that share our love of nature play and would like to be part of a vibrant team that have some knowledge about the outdoors (plants, sustainability, wildlife etc.) and nature play. Full training will be provided.

You must have a current volunteer working with children’s check.
